Presentation

This race, which will be contested in a mixed-crew format, will start on June 23, 2025, in Boulogne-sur-Mer. The Course des Caps will be the first event after the Vendée Globe and will count towards the IMOCA Globe Series championship.

The Course des Caps - Boulogne-sur-Mer - Banque Populaire du Nord is a new event on the IMOCA circuit, starting and finishing in Boulogne-sur-Mer.

The race will set off on June 29, 2025, in a mixed-crew format, with a mediawoman or mediaman onboard, and will be part of the IMOCA Globe Series championship.

The Course des Caps - Boulogne-sur-Mer - Banque Populaire du Nord aims to popularize offshore racing in the Hauts-de-France region and create new opportunities in this field.

Recognized as an exceptional playground for sailors, the Côte d’Opale offers challenging sailing conditions, with strong currents and often tricky weather. It is a strategic and thrilling setting that has remained largely underutilized by offshore racing.

For this first edition, around ten boats are expected to cover nearly 2,000 nautical miles on a legendary course around the British Isles. Departing from and returning to Boulogne-sur-Mer, the participants will cross four seas, five countries, round seven iconic capes among more than 6,000 islands, and sail as far north as the 60th parallel.

An event village will be set up from June 24 to 29 along the Quai des Paquebots. Featuring speed runs on June 27, concerts, conferences, and dockside visits, the village will offer the public a unique immersive experience.
