Following the success of the inaugural edition in 2021, The Ocean Race Europe was one of the first major international sporting events to resume after the disruption caused by COVID. With 10 teams entered, divided into two classes, the event combined world-class sporting competition with a programme geared towards sustainable development. The 2025 edition has even greater ambitions.
Stopover 1: Kiel (Germany) – August 6 to 10
The race starts in Kiel with the opening of the Ocean Live Park and major events such as The Ocean Race Summit, fan days, VIP boat tours, and Pro-Am races. The stopover concludes on August 10 with the official start of the first leg at 3:45 PM.
Stopover 2: Portsmouth (United Kingdom) – August 14 to 17
After Kiel, the fleet reaches Portsmouth. The event features a variety of activities, including sea outings for guests, an awards ceremony, and fan-focused days. The second leg begins on August 17 at 4:55 PM.
Fly-by: Porto (Portugal) – August 20
A strategic stop in Porto marks the progress of the crews, with arrivals expected on August 20 before continuing the race.
Stopover 3: Cartagena (Spain) – August 23 to 27
Cartagena hosts the race with a large maritime celebration, fan and VIP days, and Pro-Am races. The third leg departs on August 27 at 1:55 PM.
Stopover 4: Nice (France) – August 29 to 31
The fleet reaches the French Mediterranean coast on August 29. The schedule includes a Pro-Am race, an awards ceremony, and the start of the fourth leg on August 31 at 4:55 PM.
Stopover 5: Genoa (Italy) – September 3 to 7
After a stop in France, the crews arrive in Genoa for a new series of events, including fan days and VIP boat tours. The fifth leg starts on September 7 at 2:55 PM.
Stopover 6: Boka Bay (Montenegro) – September 15 to 21
The final stage of The Ocean Race Europe takes place in Boka Bay. After arrivals on September 15 and 16, festivities continue with Pro-Am races, sea outings for guests, and an awards ceremony. The event concludes with the final race on September 20 at 1:55 PM, followed by a closing ceremony and an official departure on September 21.
