A relative newborn among the races that make up the IMOCA calendar, the Bermudes 1000 Race - Douarnenez / Cascais saw the light of day in 2018 thanks to a shared desire of Sea to See and the IMOCA class.
On the programme, a 1,000-mile singlehanded race, setting out from Douarnenez, bound for the Portuguese coast, as far as Cascais, to the west of Lisbon. In Portugal, it was Paul Meilhat on SMA who bagged the win in 2018, after 3 days, 8 hours, 34 minutes and 51 seconds of racing, just 13 minutes ahead of Sam Davies on her Initiatives-Coeur.
