•••Born in Rouen, Fabien Delahaye started sailing in Ouistreham on Optimist dinghies, then 420 and 470, where he joined the French Sailing Team (Youth) and took part in the European and World Championships. He continues to race, at the same time as his higher education, on the Figaro circuit.
In 2015, he joined Jean-Pierre Dick's team on the IMOCA St Michel-Virbac. Fabien took part with the skipper from Nice in the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre, but the two sailors were forced to abandon the race after five days following a structural problem with the boat.
In 2017-2018, he took part in the crewed round the world race as a performance analyst on Dongfeng Race Team, where the Chinese crew managed by Charles Caudrelier won first place, which he considers to be the most beautiful trophy one can win, along with the Vendée Globe.
He is back on the Figaro circuit in 2019 but also keeps one foot in IMOCA with Team MACSF, where he will be taking part in the Transat Jacques Vabre with Isabelle Joscke.
Between his coaching activities, notably for Class40 stars (Yoann Richomme, Corentin Douguet, Martin Le Pape...), his role as a boat performance analyst and double-handed sailing, the Caen native has never been bored.
